with Daniel to Jack London Square

From Ayala Cove, we put up the sails in the lee of Angel Island, but didn't get anywhere as we were in a dead spot, so put them down again and decided to motor over to Oakland and Jack London Square.

The motoring was pretty uneventful, although there was plenty of wind in the slot again, and we made our way around the back of Treasure Island and into the Alameda Channel and Oakland Harbor, where several large container ships were in the process of loading. We parked Mandala at Scott's Seafood Grill and Bar and spent a few hours sightseeing around Jack London Square.

We saw a number of pretty bronze sculptures, stopped by Jack London's Klondike Cabin and had a drink at Heinolds Bar, which was a very old(1883)and curious place with many trinkets like WWI and WWII flags, a clock that stopped during the 1906 earthquake, and a floor that tilted as a result of said earthquake. On the way back to the boat, we stopped at a bookstore and got some books.
