Bon Voyage Party with the CJ Hutchins Trio, Forgotten Space, and a bunch of good friends

We threw an informal Bon Voyage Party at the pavillion of the Marina on Sunday, October 21, about a week before our departure. We got a bunch of mexican food from Baja Fresh, threw a bunch of beers and soft drinks into the fridge, and invited everyone we know.

Thanks to Dave Martin (and his wife Anne and son Todd) for bringing his drums and setting them up for me one last time. And deepest warmest thanks to CJ for bringing the PA and his rig, as well as a bass amp for me to use. It sounded great. We played a couple of good sets, ending with Mystic, one of my favorite, moody, sea-related songs.

Don and Ginny came by too, and Pat Kingsland sat in on drums. We played a few of the dead classics ... Scarlet Begonias, Uncle John's Band, and Touch of Grey. That put a really nice touch on the day! <.p>

Many other people came by ... Steve and Jodi Dexter Ron Artigues, Jeff Brown, Terri Andersen and her husband John, and her daughter Kate, Patricia Pollack, Jackie Hodges, and Dianne Ohanian, Jerry and Sylvia Ollinger, as well as our Flanders Place Neighbor and Friend, Kevin. New Baja-ha-ha friends Tom and Heidi from InCahoots, Gary and Dorothy and their daughter Kate from Wandrin Star stopped by, as well as a number of other boaters from around the marina. Even got to see old friends Stu Kallen and Ted Stern who sat in with us on fiddle till his bow string exploded.

All in all it was a great way to say goodbye, or rather "until next time", to some of our good friends.
